About Daley
Daley has an outstanding drive
and determination to succeed at the highest level in his chosen career
path in international motorcycle racing. From a modest beginning aged
12 racing an Aprilia RS125 at Elvington Race Track in Yorkshire, Daley
now regularly competes semi-professionally at circuits at home, across
Europe and as far afield as Macau in the People's Republic of China.
Routinely riding a variety of
top-class machinery, including the sport's most modern and advanced
Superbikes, he constantly seeks to learn and to improve his riding in
order to fulfil his long-term ambition of becoming a professional
motorcycle racer.
Early years
For a number of years Daley
served his racing apprenticeship by riding at UK circuits such as
Elvington, Teesside, Scarborough and Aberdare Park. In 2010 he
relocated to Northern Ireland for two seasons to be fully immersed in
the sport at the home of "Real Road Racing". His outstanding riding at
such a young age earned him the prestigious award of "The Best Non-Irish Performance on the Irish Roads Series" by the Two-Stroke Racing Supporter's Club.
In 2012 Daley returned to the UK
mainland, formed his own racing team and soon gathered around him a
strong team with excellent support from major sponsors such as Michelin
and Hol-Taj Exports, as well as from equipment and consumables
suppliers.
Daley was delighted to make his
Isle of Man Mountain Course debut at the 2013 Manx Grand Prix and his TT
debut in 2014 with a fastest lap in excess of 120 mph.
Over several seasons a series of
excellent results at road racing events followed which steadily built
his reputation as a front-runner capable of making a strong challenge to
the sport's top riders at both the national and international levels.
Recent achievements
With his performance and results
improving alongside his increased riding and technical experience, Daley
has progressively added to his portfolio of major achievements at
international meetings. Of particular note are three TT podium
finishes in the TT Zero class, winning the European MotoE Championship
(twice), joining the "130 Club" at the Ulster Grand Prix, winning the
Ulster Grand Prix Ultra Lightweight race, a fastest personal lap of the
TT course in excess of 128mph and being a "seeded" top-20 rider in all 6
solo classes for the 2019 TT. These results have been supplemented by
an increasingly regular series of wins and podium finishes at national
meetings.
For the 2019 season Daley has secured rides with the prestigious Germany-based Wepol Racing by Penz13.com and the UK-based WH Racing in Partnership with Dynobike
teams. With these teams he will be riding in the International Road
Racing Championship (IRRC) across Europe, at the TT in all 7 solo races,
at the Macau Grand Prix, at major international road racing meetings
such as the Ulster Grand Prix and the North West 200, as well as at
selected short circuit and BSB meetings on the UK mainland. His
machinery includes bikes in the Superbike, Superstock, Supersport and
Supertwin classes.
